For you newbies you will if you read my blogs hear about Peggy,Peggy is not a person Peggy is a Herring Gull that my late beloved Margaret started feeding about 14 years ago.She is named Peggy because she has a bad left leg if this is through injury or a birth defect I don't know but you can clearly see left knee if she had knees is way higher than the right.
Over the years Peggy has brought fledglings to my garden before they wandered off into the big wide world. She has trust in me and I can get very close to her although I seem to be able to do that with most animals wild or tame. I could probably reach out and touch Peggy but I don't want to she is a wild animal not a pet but her trust in me is nice. In this photo I had to move back to get her in the shot. One thing I will warn you about is that gulls have very bad fish smelling breath. Click photos for zoom
So that's your intro if you follow my blogs you will hear more of the old girl and her adventures such as chasing the black backed gulls away which is good because they attack the little garden birds and her complete disdain for the neighbourhood cats who think of mounting an attack but soon change their minds when they get close and see how big she is because even for large birds like Herring gulls she is big.
Right I am off things to do then I'm off over to the numpties I have a little job to do for their new neighbours
