Following this morning's trip to town the few clouds around vanished and it started getting warmer. By lunch time it was and still is 24c-75f in here with all the doors and windows open. Outside in the back garden the sun was a lot hotter of course.
I decided to mow and strim the grass and started with the larger section. I mowed it then rested before moving the plant pots and mowing as much as I could there. After a break I mowed the parts I could on the side with the fruit trees before another break,a longer one this time because my skin had sprung some leaks and I was thirsty. Suitably rested and refreshed I decided to strim the smaller section as that was the harder to do and despite the gooseberry bushes trying to ambush me I escaped unscathed. Yet another rest before the final push,I strimmed all the edges and the area where the planters are then returned them to their plot, finished at last I was melting.
I delayed cleaning and stowing the tools for an hour or so. Instead a took off the toe-tectors at last donned my sandals, poured myself a cold one and rested in the sun.
I very good afternoon's work which I really enjoyed. I am not shy of manual labour and get a great deal of satisfaction when I can sit at the end of it and enjoy the results.
Here are some snaps. I little good honest toil is good for body and soul especially as my back has behaved itself.

It certainly looks very nice and trim from the photos.
Enjoy your evening.
Here we have sun and wind again but only up to about 18 C in the sun, 14 C everywhere else.
I saw the gooseberry photo and said "Wow!" I've got a good harvest here, or so I thought. That's an incredible amount of goose berries. Is it one plant, or many? I have just the one, quite young, in a pot. Big berries and quite a good number considering it's a young plant.
I'm still wishing for some rain. We haven't had a decent downpour in absolutely ages.
Mickey fez has replied to Bee OrchidMickey fez has replied to Bee OrchidWe have drizzle today (Sunday). Better than nothing however we really need a good amount of rain. The grass in my neighbours garden is looking very sad indeed.
