Today was another glorious day - not as humid and hot as the last couple of days and so I thought I'd try and catch some rays. Oh dear .........
I fell asleep as I tend to do and woke up feeling as if I'd had a swim!!!! I was so so hot and was leaking all over the place. Pippin was in the shade of the trees - see one of us is sensible!!!
To cut a long story short, after a lovely cooling shower, feeling somewhat refreshed I went back out into the garden to clean up the blanket and pillows and noticed that there was a gorgeous pink rose on the top of the hedge - it wasn't there yesterday.....
I was so pleased to see it there and to think I'd been disappointed that Fred the Shed hadn't cut the hedge, he said that because of the late spring, it wouldn't do the hedge any good to trim it too early. Thank heavens for Fred eh?
Then I wandered towards the driveway with camera all ready and I sat down near the petunias because they smell divine and I saw the wild purple flower. I've always called it "loose strife" but Fred said it was called something else. It's growing all over the place and it's so pretty that I'm keeping it.......
See it's really pretty, so why dig them up as we are told to???? It's called a weed by "officianados" but it's my garden & I love any plant that looks good.
The orange lilies still look great - I drown all the pots every evening, because they dry out so quickly with this heat....
And now I have a lovely display of colour (albeit in a small area) in my driveway....
Have found out what it's called..........
