Well the weather has certainly changed for the better and I only wish I felt good enough to get out and enjoy it more. Mind you - it is Bank Holiday and wherever I go, it's going to be heaving with people, which I don't really enjoy. I've opened my windows wide and so my lounge is open to the elements and fresh air is pouring in, in abundance.

Pippin is enjoying himself outside - he's found a lovely spot that's semi-shaded and as fallen asleep - well he was asleep til I woke him up with the sound of the shutter!!!

You can hardly make him out - but I could see him when I was standing at the window ....

Aha there he is. Eyes were tight shut, so he was just a black shape. Being black, he doesn't lie in the sun much, because the black holds in the heat. So just look for some shade and you'll find Pippin. Bless him....

Also I have been busy choosing material for my next patchwork quilt I'm going to make. It took me a long time deciding on the style and pattern of this quilt. I've only really done one pattern - log cabin - but just placed each block in different ways and the quilts look completely different. This time I wanted to change the pattern completely, I'm really quite excited. I've also gone rather daring with my colours - the background colour is BLACK!!!!! it's contrasted with two greens, two yellows and two oranges so it should look quite vibrant....

Here are my materials...

and these are the designs I'm toying with....

I think I'm going to have to make the blocks and fiddle around a bit to see which one looks better. It's quite exciting really - although I do realise there's some of you out there - thinking ...."what?"

Well I hope you've all had a good weekend - we in the UK have another day off tomorrow too - being August Bank Holiday and for those who have come down to Devon for a short holiday have been lucky this time - it's actually nice weather!!!!
