I just felt like getting out the other day but not wanting to go too far, I decided to just visit the river, which is about 2 miles from the main beach and a mile from the beach I go to watch the dogs. In fact you can make out the beach in the background. ...

There were a pair of men trying to get their sailing boat out into the river. They had to wait a while for the Pilot tugboat to pass {causing quite a few waves} before they were free to go and enjoy their sailing.

I wasn't able to catch the pilot boat chugging along, but following that was a four man rowing boat practising for a regatta which was being held at the weekend.......

The houses down there are pricey as you can imagine but they are very nice and a couple of them even have a waterfront jetty/garden.....

Okay the main bridge is just there, but the only noise from them is the gentle clip-clop as they cross over the "hinge" as the bridge does lift up to let some ships sail under to go to the sea. On the whole, it must be wonderful living there, you do feel that you're a long way from the hustle and bustle of a town, whereby it's only just over a mile away!!!

Eventually the men got the sail up and they gentle made their way down the river towards the sea.

I was there for about an hour and I returned home all calm and peaceful. Sometimes all we need is just a few minutes out of the day to just sit there and watch.
