From September 5 to 7, 2025, we had a booth at the PHOTON Photography Festival in Illingen / Saar, Germany, where we promoted Ipernity. Thanks to Bernhard (Bergfex), who traveled from Austria especially for this event, we were able to talk to visitors at the festival and raise awareness of Ipernity. I came to Ipernity at a time when the increasing commercialization of existing photo sites and/or communities was increasingly limiting my creativity. Die Redensart „Lehrgeld zahlen“ bedeutet in Anspielung auf die historische Bedeutung so viel wie „durch Unerfahrenheit Schaden erleiden“ und aus diesem Schaden klug zu werden. Das ist dann u.U. schon schmerzlich, aber richtig weh tut es, wenn der Schaden nicht durch Unwissenheit entsteht, sondern durch Fahrlässigkeit. Dann kommt schon die Selbsteinschätzung: Wie blöd bin ich eigentlich?!
