I decided to go to the seaside to take some sunset pictures........... that was the idea anyway!!

For over a week now we've had beautiful clear blue sky with no clouds and that is why I didn't go for the sunset, because you really need clouds to make it beautiful. So this afternoon I caught sight of a few clouds and thought - I'm off.............

So knowing the sunset time was around 9.15pm I left at 7.30pm because I wanted to take photos of other things as well.

It was beautifully warm, but luckily I did take a cardigan with me. I parked the car near the coast and only had to walk a short way, managed to go down some steep steps and found a lovely little bench to sit on facing the sea.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this girl actually swimming in the sea. Our water is really cold and children don't seem to feel the cold, but she wasn't a child.......

There were holiday makers strolling around - awww bless them.........

A canoeist meandered his way down to the sea, soon joined by his mate. They both had fishing rods with them. Don't know if they caught anything............

The sun was on its way down - not long to go.............

I noticed a whole group of seagulls gathering on the rocks just watching the sun go down - really amazing.

Starting to take effect.................

Two people decided to exercise their horses on the sand - no-one was there - but they had a wonderful gallop..................

Ooooh it was starting to look as if it was going to be a super sunset ...... but then I noticed that there were more clouds on their way!!!!! NO NO they can't do that.......

They did..............

Damn things - it suddenly got cold and the sun was hidden behind those clouds. Can you believe it - I'd sat there for over 2 hours, and at the optimum moment - those clouds came along and ruined it.

I drove home all miffed. Apparently tomorrow we can expect some rain - which means that I've just watered the pots for nothing and the new hosepipe I've just ordered won't be needed!!!!

I'm going to have a stiff drink and ring Mickey in a minute... I'll feel better then.
