Hi folks, I've not written a blog lately because to be honest - not a lot has happened really. I seem to have been busy for most of the time, but I have yet to work out what exactly have I achieved!!!!!

Mandi and Dogan went back up to Istanbul on Sunday night, for their interview on Monday morning. Thank heavens the cost of all these bus rides is reasonable, they seem to have been constantly on the road these past couple of weeks, which is probably why they have both come down with the dreaded lurgy!!!!

Well Dogan came out of his interview in a positive manner, which I hope bodes well, so let's keep our fingers crossed. A friend of his met them after the Consulate and took them to see the sights, so I'm hoping there are some lovely pics of the Blue Mosque and other places.

Now they are back in Bodrum, staying in bed nursing their colds and fevers. I should think that all that travelling, and not resting hasn't helped at all. Mandi is missing her home comforts a lot. She misses her cat Boo a tremendous amount, and when she Skypes me, I try and make sure that she can see Boo next to me and to see that she's well and has settled in wonderfully. She misses other strange things - carpets and her couch!!!

As you can see Boo is really happy with her lot - a carpet to lie on and a lovely warm fire to keep her comfy.

I have been following a new friend on here who takes unbelievable macro photos, and so I tried to see if I could take some of my own. Now there's no way my camera is able to take the quality of pictures that she can take, but as my first try I'm not to disappointed with them......

I noticed the last surviving flower clinging to life on the driveway - a solitary little poppy struggling to live in the cold. Poor little thing...............

I saw some moss clinging to a rock and some dead leaves from the mombretia............

This is a mombretia corm, it looks so strange like this................

and finally a daffodil bulb is emerging already. I mean - the cold weather is on the way and he should be all snuggled down under the compost. I wonder if any gardeners out there could tell me if I should cover him up or just let him carry on.

Well that's about all folks, Mandi and Dogan should hear about the visa in a couple of days, and hopefully I'll be able to start decorating the house in earnest and ordering the turkey and beef. It's damn cold out there tonight and I've got a lovely coal fire burning in the grate, but the rest of the house is quite chilly - still never mind - I'm in here!!!
