Here are the rules for quotation marks
quotation marks add emphasis, or additional meaning, to things that would otherwise pass unnoticed, or remain mundane. taking a photograph is putting quotation marks around that piece of -found or manufactured- reality the photographer deems worth pointing out - and preserving
so, when we say that...
"little things are big "
... we don't mean only truly small things, or small details in the image, but also imperceptible moods, expressions, feelings
but a small thing isn't "big" just because it's pretty - or because it means a lot to our own heart; it becomes "big" when it resonates, when -despite its, at first, insignificant appearance- it starts meaning more and more things - to more and more people
therefore, please note that [self-]portraits, macros and other subject- or technique-defined photographs are welcome, provided they are images that are more than good in their own category - and show some of the characteristics described above. otherwise, there are plenty of other groups dedicated to all sorts of specific kinds of photographs. also, photographs with artificial borders and/or signatures are unlikely to be accepted
[so please do not be offended if the administrators -the first "more and more people" to see your work within this particular group- have removed an image you submitted]
