A series of twilight pictures of my street in different seasons. This picture was taken near the beginning of the street, the rest (in PiP) - near my yard.

Another lake nearby, which remained at the site of the quarry. But the great depth, vertical cliffs and icy water make this lake unsuitable for swimming, offering simply to admire its wild beauty. (+PiP)

The picturesque location - one of the lakes that formed at the place of stone mining. It is not very deep here, so in the summer the water warms up enough for swimming. Autumn photo. Summer views of this place you can see in PiP.

(+PiP) Monument to the Independence of Ukraine, which symbolises the birth of a new state and is one of the most striking sculptural works of the country was built in 2001 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of Ukraine as an independent state after the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. The Ukraine's Independence Monument, made in the style of Ukrainian Baroque and late Classicism, is a 9-meter statue that towers over the city on the 52-meter column. The female figure on the top of the structure is Berehynia-Oranta, who lifts its hands to heaven holding a branch of Guelder Rose (in Ukrainian: Kalyna) – a national symbol of Ukraine. The author of the project was inspired by an image of Berehynia-Oranta – a female spirit of Slavic heathen mythology. Berehynia considered to be the mother of all living things, the goddess-protector of home and family, and also Ukraine and Ukrainians, therefore it is presented in a Ukrainian national dress. Figure is made of bronze and the Guelder Rose’s branch, a ribbon and dress’ ornaments are decorated with gold. The column is faced with white marble, specially imported from Italy. At its foot there is a building resembling a temple. The total height of the monument is 61 meters. The Ukraine's Independence Monument is an architectural embodiment of Ukrainian Nation’s freedom. One of the oldest fountains in Kiev. At the end of the 19th century, 7 of these identical fountains were made. The very first fountain was built in 1871 and installed on Tsarskaya (now European) square. Later, with the development of the Kiev electric tram, this fountain was dismantled, as it interfered with the laying of tram tracks. In the years 1899-1901, six more exactly the same fountains were made. Five of them have survived safely to this day and are functioning properly now. Parts of the fountains are cast iron. The shape of the fountains resembles a flower bowl fixed on a cast-iron leg. The trunk shows the year of manufacture and the name of the factory. The fountain is decorated with mascarons. The base of the fountain is decorated with four lion heads, from whose mouths water flows, and on the bowl itself there are four decorative elements in the form of human faces, from whose mouths water also gushes. Legend has it that at the Thermen's factory, where the fountains were cast, a master named Pharaoh, who was distinguished by rudeness and boorishness, worked. Once, the foundry workers, taking advantage of the departure of the master, made adjustments to the forms, as a result of which the master's evil grimace appeared on the fountains. When Pharaoh returned and recognized himself - it was too late, the mascarons on the fountains were ready, and all his attempts to change anything through the court were fruitless, the case was drowned in paperwork This fountain at late autumn evening
