Fences
Cloud among Clouds
I did a little processing to nudge it in the direction of the palette of early color postcards.
Shot from a moving car, in case that's not obvious ...
Dutch Windmill with fence
Our air is back to normal (for now), and we delight in breathing freely and looking at blue skies. However, Central Oregon, including Portland, still has purple and brown air, and the fires up north remain out of control. There is some hope for a bit of rain early next week. Send good thoughts.
This is the northern windmill, known as the Dutch or Queen Wilhelmina windmill. Normally photographed with its lovely tulip garden, this is an angle featuring the obligatory fence.

Bodega Bay with Blackbird
Birdie flew past just as I was taking the picture ... would have preferred a big fat seagulll for that Hitchcockian feeling, but there you go .... HFF.
Life goes on
HFF, take care y'all.
Smoke on the Water
Smoke drifting in from the wildfires south of us. Santa Cruz, which is branded on the jacket of the guy to the left, is heavily impacted, and they just evacuated the University there.
There are fires to the north and to the east.
#climatechange and #covid. God bless America, indeed.
Adding a sound track commemorating a much smaller fire and more hopeful times.

Before the Fires
This photo was taken on the day after an intense lightening storm, when we were still hoping that the lightning hadn't ignited any major wild fires.
We were quite wrong, of course.
Honey Bear
WORKS BETTER LARGE:
In our neighborhood at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, people were asked to put teddy bears into their windows so children could play a game on their walks, counting the numbers.
Some people got creative ...
Another Angle
A second take on the lesser-known windmill in Golden Gate Park. PiP shows earlier version.
