Yep, likely. Poor Richard Fleischer, that's the only thing they ever remember about his career as a director.

That's one more thing than people remember about me, Sarah. But actually he directed several well-remembered movies, from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea on. Not that I knew he was the director of any of them, so thanks for getting me to look him up.

Yes sadly for him in his latter years, even as a very energetic 70-something year old, he had to make due with B and C movie material. His last one was a short film, using a now-defunct technology called Showscan, "the future of cinema that never happened." Written, incidentally, by yours truly.
Fame is fickle, and I can assure you that what people will remember about you will have more to do with your wit and your generosity as a mentor and a lot less with anything that looks impressive on imdb or any other dot com.
