st. mary le port church tower, bristol

the c15 tower is difficult to see, standing in trees behind a derelict 1960s block that replaced half the high street. only the tower and some foundations remain after wartime destruction that removed this part of town; post war rebuilding was almost as bad, and successive failures of planning have only made matters worse. some attempts at putting matters right are being attempted, though I've yet to see any good modern building come of it here .
