big artworks cover many of bristol's late c20 buildings, many of which are to be torn down. time and again the council has made a dogs' dinner of planning in the centre of town, and still seems intent on putting commercial considerations before anything else. shopping centres have money spent on them whilst much of victorian bristol remains a wreck.
