this detail is built into the west wall of the church; it has been claimed as some type of squint, but it is too high internally to be useful, and a bit small for a c12 window. it could just be another fragment reused by the c14 rebuilders (such as a mortar?) or have been a hole for a sanctus bell rope, though it's not visible internally.
