the roundhouse and the shard

the roundhouse was built in 1847 by r.b. dockwray with a central turntable and surrounding berths for trains. it became an arts centre in the mid 1960s after almost a century as a gin warehouse, and remains so after refurbishment under new management, though the clientele look as squeaky clean as the inside of the building nowadays. the shard is by renzo piano, 2009-2012, and from the glass urinals at the top you can piss all over the square mile..
