west wycombe church, bucks.
the trapdoor is evident on this view of the mid c18 golden ball on top of the tower, which can seat 8 people at a squeeze. it is a long climb up here, and very windy on top of the tower,making access to the ball difficult and dangerous so I doubt that it was often used as a place to play cards.
