partly the wide angle lens, partly my tilting the camera to get the whole building into shot. I'd need a tilt shift camera to stop this effect, or I'd have to be happy with only getting part of the building into the picture. I could photoshop the effect out, but it would take forever with the number of churches I photo.

Thanks for the info: I could use Pixlr free distort to straighten things up, but it takes time and rarely bothers me that much, though its useful for stained glass sometime. Free, too, though any pixel stretching is not without its downside.
