truman's brewery, brick lane, london

the firm's eagle mark sits atop the brick lane facade of truman brewery's massive stables built in 1837 by robert davison, eventually home to around 200 dray horses until its conversion to other uses in 1929. a boiler house built inside then by a.r.robertson added the iconic chimney behind, with the brewery's name picked out in white tiled bricks.

Interesting that Trumans' beers have come back to life now. The new Truman's also known as the Black Eagle Brewery hasn't had a dedicated site, though as of June 2013 work is underway at a forty barrel plant in Hackney Wick. In the meantime beers are contract brewed by Everards of Leicester.
