berners roding church, essex

berners roding church, essex
the chancel windows are c16 brick, with the odd fragment of original glass remaining. c19 altar rails remain, and an aumbry in the east wall close to the remains of a piscina in the south. victorian quarry tiles cover the floor. really, some use should be found to save this church: it could be made into a residence if the north walls were underpinned, and the modern west wall opened up or glazed. anything would be better than the collapse that the church authorities seem happy with.
