222-5 the strand, london

222-5 the strand, london
now an unlikely branch of lloyds bank , built late c19 for offices with a restaurant on the ground floor which has left this fantastic majolica vestibule, with a distinct fish motif, the entire entry including the ceiling covered in the richest decoration, probably by doulton's of lambeth. the cash machines and banking hall beyond are odd bedfellows to this splendour.
