isleham priory
built c.1090, pevsner reckons this apsidal church is too big to be the capella ante portas, but too small to be the church of the alien benedictine priory. however, this was never a big house, and the pre-existing chapel of st.margaret may have sufficed. the priory was suppressed in 1414 . the new owners, pembroke college in cambridge, demolished most of the buildings, converting this chapel into a barn for their produce from the estate.
