the amphitheatre under the guildhall in london was mostly a timber and earth affair, what remains under the guildhall art gallery is the stone ruin of the public entrance added later. it is well presented, giving one an idea of the size of the complete theatre. this photo shows the wall stretching down the entry passage, under which can be seen remarkably well preserved wooden drains and a well like sump.
