This is the white-rumped subspecies from northern Ethiopia. It is in the grounds of the Goha Hotel in Gondar and has just caught a gecko to eat.

Hundreds of Gelada head across the hill above the campsite to spend the night on the cliffs below. Sadly there was low cloud, so although we saw and heard them, we couldn't see them descending the cliffs.
