Statue of Fonske, the Source of Wisdom ~ Fons Sapientiae in front of the town hall at Leuven ~ Rector De Somerplein Louvain, Flemish Brabant, Flanders, Belgium

The ancient city hall is Leuven's pride and joy. It is also one of the most famous Gothic town halls in the world. The first stone was laid in 1439. The construction took thirty years and involved three master builders. The late Gothic Sint-Pieterskerk is located directly opposite the town hall.
