This is so beautiful, Siebbi! I love her sleek, dappled coat and deep black eyes and you captured her smooth movement through the water, so apparently effortless and yet powerful enough to create a rippling wave in front of her. One of my favorite animal photos in a long time: grace, power, quiet assurance as she glades through her element and yet a touch of watchfulness ... a harbour full of human activity can be a dangerous place after all.

Thank you very much, Annalia! Actually we have an aquarium with a group of seals in an open-air bassin. So he/she is only imprisoned, well accomodated but not in danger in the harbour.
I'm always fascinated by their effortless and elegant swimming. Without any visible movement they float with impressive speed through the water.

You conveyed your fascination in this shot very beautifully, Siebbi.
I don't like to see wild animals held captive, but any more we have become such a danger to them that she (in my mother tongue, seal is a feminine word so, since I don't know the actual gender, I figure I might as well imagine her as a female) might be better off in an aquarium after all.
