Ce champignon que l'on nomme Amanite des Césars, doit son nom à sa rareté qui le faisait destiner aux empereurs Romains,et notamment Jules César.
On l’appelle aussi le Graal du mycologue et de l'amateur de champignon pour son goût exquis
