Die Cappella Palatina („Palastkapelle“) wurde 1132 bis 1140 n. Chr. unter König Roger II. im normannisch-arabisch-byzantinischen Stil als Hofkapelle des Palazzo Reale von Palermo errichtet. Die Weihe fand 1140 statt, das Mosaik in der Kuppel ist 1143 datiert. Vollständig fertiggestellt war die Ausgestaltung auch beim Tod Rogers 1154 noch nicht.. (siehe Wikipedia)

Good old souvenirs for me when I was in Palermo in 1977 !
I was attending drinking place instead of churches at that time though !

Es gibt in Palermo viele alte Schätze und die habe ich mir gerne angesehen, Leo.
Natürlich durfte auch hier und da ein Rotwein nicht fehlen.
