Plaques in the war memorial at St. Anton's Church. At first it was a little odd to realize that most of the memorials date from WWII, but the pictures make it clear that these are memorials to ordinary Wehrmacht soldiers (plus one woman who went missing during the bombing of Dresden) and not the SS.

The pilgrimage church of St. Anton, where my friends' wedding took place. Some tourists were inside when the ceremony started, and ended up having to sit through the service with the nuns in the back pews here...they got a little more than they expected when they came to the church sightseeing.

Sunset over the Eibsee, from the terrace outside the reception hall at the Eibsee Hotel. Just as we moved inside for dinner, a thunderstorm moved in across the lake, leaving these spectacular clouds in its wake at sunset.

An illustration of how clear the Eibsee is. The log is about forty feet long, so you can imagine how deep the water is...and crystal clear to the bottom.
