Believe it or not, this was taken at about 11:30pm, in near total darkness, as an experiment with the shutter settings on my then-two-week-old camera. The wisps of steam over the factory or power plant in the distance were glowing ghosts to the naked eye.

Inside the kuppel atop the Reichstag. When I first saw the concept drawings for the new cupola over the plenary hall, I cringed. It's still not as attractive as the original dome was, but it's nonetheless impressive.
