I know you don't expect luxury appointments when staying in a hostel, but this oppressively institutional style made me wonder which room was issued to D503.

This is the Anker Apartments hostel in Oslo. Not only are the accommodations soul-crushingly sterile, but they nickel-and-dime you for everything imaginable. Not recommended.
