Circa 1820 - This view shows the detacted kitchen behind the house. Kitchens occasionally caught fire so were often detached from the main house, Ashville, Alabama. (IMG_7052)

A great place to eat. The focus is on healthy locally grown produce. Mentone, Alabama (IMG_8932)
Mentone Springs Hotel (Sadly, now only a memory)

Built in 1884, and quite lavish in its day it went through some hard times. Extensively renovated in 2010 it reopened as a Bed and Breakfast place. Tragically, it burned to the ground on March 1, 2014 in a fire caused by a malfunction in an electrical panel. Mentone, Alabama (IMG_8974)
