DescriptionThis red gravel area in a Gadsden Mall parkinga area is where a pair of killdeer decided to have their nest, if you can call it that. In this case, basically the egg was laid in a space between the gravel. Sort of incredible considering the constant traffic on the road around the mall, although this section of parking is remote and rarely used. I had parked there to go check out a nearby heron rookery.
