SiJ Day 24 Exiles
These graves lie in a churchyard in Alresford, in Hampshire. They were French officers - prisoners of war - during Napoleonic times. They gave their parole and were in turn allowed to live in the village with their wives and children as long as they did not walk more than a mile along the road...
