The Pig Painter was a contemporary of the Pan Painter among the Mannerist artists. Here he presents his own version of a satyr waiting on Dionysos, the god of wine, with an oinochoe (jug) and a pointed amphora (jar). On the reverse, another satyr gesticulates in expressive abandon.
