A distinctive plant with a diminutive habit, smaller flowers and reduced leaves with narrow segments when compared to what is known as "Alyogyne huegelii" in SA. I consider that this is part of the same taxon as Alyogyne pinoniana var. microandra, but is best treated as distinct at species level both from A. pinoniana and from what in SA is currently called "A. huegelii".
