Kaleidozyklus (PiP=Animation)
Der Körper lässt sich mit den Fingern von unten nach oben durchdrücken (umkrempeln) und zeigt so 4 verschiedene Varianten der entsprechend gestalteten Tetraederflächen, die im PiP gezeigt werden. Der Kaleidozyklus besteht aus einer geraden Anzahl von miteinander verbundenen Tetraedern (Definition).
Bekannt wurde diese wundersame und dekorative mathematische Spielerei durch die weltweite Verbreitung der Arbeiten von M.C.Escher zu diesem Thema.
Mein obiges Exemplar ist schon etliche Male durchgedreht worden und sieht daher schon reichlich lädiert aus - aber er lässt sich immer noch drehen (s.PiP)!

The figure can be pushed through with the fingers from bottom to top (turned up) and thus shows 4 different variants of the correspondingly designed tetrahedron surfaces shown in PiP. The Kaleidocycle consists of an even number of connected tetrahedra (definition).
This miraculous and decorative mathematical gimmick became known through the worldwide dissemination of the work of M.C.Escher on this topic.
My specimen above has already been rotated several times and therefore it looks already damaged - but it can still be turned. (s.PiP)!

Früher haben wir ähnliche Objekte aus Papierservietten gefaltet, Klaus. Irgenwie spielte dabei Himmel und Hölle eine Rolle. Ich muss es doch wieder einmal ausprobieren.
