The second part of this [0:07 to end] is my recording of 540 kHz immediately before 2000UTC (4:30pm my time in St John's, Newfoundland). It is a mix of two CBC stations and the European station I think is the newly installed two-megawatt station at Solt Hungary. In the background, behind the CBC chatter, is a tune (on trumpet?) which sounds like the same melody (not the same instruments or arrangement) as the first part of this recording [0:00 to 0:07] , the actual interval signal from Radio Budapest in 2007, as reported at "Interval Signals Online" (and EQ'd by me for a thinner sound).
The distance is about 5200 km.

The first seven seconds are filled with the recording of the R Hungary interval signal taken from the website.
The rest (about 20 seconds to the end) is my recording off-air of the various radio signals I was hearing, including the same interval signal down in the mud.
Duhhh.
