Listening to the radio

Yes, this is a radio that receives regular analogue radio plus DRM and DAB stuff. There is no local digital radio here yet but I had an outdoor wire aerial attached to help receive DRM from overseas. I (occasionally) hear DRM from Romania, India, France, Nigeria, and Korea. I am way beyond their normal ranges, so it's a fairly unexpected treat to get that whenit comes in. But this set is also a good analogue shortwave radio, so I use it for non-digital shortwave broadcasts, too. All our television is now digital -- they closed down the older analogue tv stations about five years ago.

(This radio has several very annoying quirks; one is that it is permanently set for the European medium-wave band which is not the same as North American medium wave band; although they cover the same range, the chosen spots for stations are different. So I can pick up European stations some nights, but not my own local ones during the day!)
