A Metallic Ant – Le jardin de verre et de métal, Botanical Garden, Montréal, Québec
The garden of glass and metal was conceived and implemented by Albert Mondor and his team. It is a landscape made of recycled glass and scrap metal. In particular, Mr. Mondor asked Jeffrey McDonald, an artist and a welder, to include these magnificent insects which add a theatrical touch to the display.
Albert Mondor is uniquely equipped to create this kind of art. He has earned both a diploma in ornamental horticulture and a degree in biology. For the past 30 years he has been working as a horticulturist and garden designer. In addition to teaching and lecturing, he writes a column in the Journal de Montréal newspaper, has published nine books on horticulture and hosts television shows.
