Mayerling
Tucked away quietly in the Vienna Woods, this place was the scene of the 'apparent' murder-suicide of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria and his lover Baroness Mary Vetsera in 1889. The death of Rudolf led to the succession eventually passing to Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination led to the 1st World War.
