I have finally bitten the bullet, crossed the Rubicon, faced the music, leapt into the breach, bowed to fate, and grasped the nettle by switching camera systems. It is not for the faint of heart... believe me.
I have moved on from my heavy, 5-year-old, 12.5 megapixel, go-to Olympus DSLR to a much lighter, Sony, 42 megapixel, mirrorless camera system. It remains to be seen how quickly I can get up-to-speed with all of the features (I'm sure I'll never use all of them) of this camera. The new camera is a Sony a7rII, digital camera with a 90mm macro lens.
Stay tuned and follow along with me as I learn to use my new camera gear and hope to improve my photography in the process.
On this trip, we visited some familiar places along the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina -- mainly, the Wolf Moutain Overlook.

These wildflowers (Gentians and Ladies'-tresses orchids) were photographed on a half-day's adventure along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. It was a gorgeous fall day, perfect for wildflower photography.
