On Wednesday, I drove the short, 35 miles (56 km) to Nine Times, a Nature Conservancy site, for Spring ephemerals. As you can see, I found lots of Blood Root in full bloom.

On Thursday, I took another trip up Persimmon Ridge Road in northern Greenville County, South Carolina and then up Hwy. 276 to the Pisgah National Forest in Brevard, North Carolina. Everything I expected to see was in bloom, and I was pleased to see them all!

On Sunday, April 24, I met my photographer friend, Bill Robertson in Polk County, North Carolina for a day of botanizing and photography. We eventually made our way to the Blue Ridge Parkway where we found Trilliums, Trout Lilies, and some Springtime scenery.
