These images are the result of a day trip I made to the Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County, near Brevard, North Carolina. I went specifically to check on the progress of another orchid speccies. Three-birds orchid, but stumbled upon these beautiful wildflowers along the way...

Continuation of my day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina to photograph wildflowers. I spent two additional days up there with a friend from Connecticut, Sam Saulys. She is a friend and photographer whom I met at a Native Orchid Conference many years ago.

A mid-Winter walk through the woods of an upstate South Carolina Heritage Preserve. Lots of green but, as you might expect, not many wildflowers in bloom yet. Still a refreshing feeling to be outdoors again...
