Platanthera aquilonis beside the parking lot at the motel

These few images are from archives of our trip to Newfoundland, Canada in early July, 2013. This series was taken in and around the fishing village of Rocky Harbour. Lobster Cove Head is at the western edge of the Harbour and is an active lighthouse.

We stayed in Rocky Harbour on our trip both going up the coast as well as coming back down the coast a week later. At the edge of the parking lot of our second motel, Fisherman's Inn, I found a nice patch of Platanthera aquilonis, a common native orchid. They needed no excuse to pop up where ever they chose...
