London City wall
One of the better preserved bits of London's old wall. Roman lower part, medieval upper part.
Site of Pepys' office
Site of the Royal Navy office where Samuel Pepys worked and lived. Now a small garden in front of a modern hotel.
St Olave's Hart Street
Entrance to the churchyard. St Olave's is one of the few City churches which mostly pre-dates the Great Fire of 1666.
St Botolph's Aldgate
Memorial to Robert Dow, erected by the Worshipful Company of Merchant Tailors. There are 109 of these medieval trade associations or guilds surviving today.
Turkish bath
A Victorian Turkish bath, built in 1895. Surviving buildings like this are dwarfed by the (mostly hideous) tower blocks that have taken over much of London.
Lord Aberconway pub
An unusual mezzanine floor in an otherwise typical City pub. (With typical City prices.)
Police telephone
There are several of these old police call boxes in the City, provided for the public to phone the police in an emergency.
