Aveiro
Aveiro station.
The station building is made up of three sectors: a central one, with three floors and three large doors at the lower level; and two symmetrical sides, with two floors, with a door and two rectangular shutters.
It follows a stylistic grammar that is known as “Portuguese house”, being a good example at regional level. But, more than the architecture, it is the tiles that make the building remarkable. This one features a rich collection of tile panels that cover the walls of its facades.
Its objective is to illustrate the facades of the building. Thus, among the main panels there are essentially ethnographic and monumental motifs, such as: figures, work and landscapes typically characteristic of the region; the city's weapons; illustrious figures who contributed to the construction of the railway line.
