Thanks George. From memory there were 3 sites like this where solar gave the diesel a bit of a break and 2 sites which were full solar with diesel as an occasional backup. Here is one> www.ipernity.com/doc/grahamh/24116923

The diesel was used at remote sites which were in cuttings with insufficient hours of sunlight.

My first solar powered comms installation when at Telecom was a single telephone service to a remote commune in NSW in mid1980. I remember passing a remote tele exch in the Victorian Alps in 1975.
