Fieldfare nest

Fieldfare nest
Springtime action in the trees along Akerselva, one of the main rivers running though Oslo.

Does anyone know if fieldfares and blackbirds have some kind of companionship or cooperation? The fieldfare is normally very aggressive towards intruders, but it didn't seem to mind that a female blackbird landed on its nest a little while after this shot was taken. The fieldfare was not on the nest just then, but not far away. Puzzling...

Fieldfares and blackbird belong to the same family/genus of birds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turdus). I don't know if the behaviour is normal

Special photo!

Thank you all! Unfortunately, the nest was on the ground yesterday... Perhaps a hungry gull has wreaked havoc? Or could it just be that the chicks already have grown so much that the nest wasn't necessary any longer and was "discarded" for that reason? There were no signs of dead chicks around the nest on the ground.

Too bad about the nest. At least you got a lovely shot.
