Lost Creek Teewinot

Lost Creek Teewinot
Young female Classic llama at less than 24 hours after birth. Gestation is usually considered to average 350 days; she cooked for 373 (poor mom!).

Teewinot (tee-win-oh) is the French adaptation of the Shoshone word for the Tetons.

Most babies born here are in the 24lb+/- range primarily due to selection for moderate birthweights (easier on baby and mom, no effect on final adult size) and attention to not overfeeding; Teewinot (32 pounds) is the second largest to date and the heaviest for Greymist, who does tend to gestate her babies longer than most.
